Newcastle City Councillor Peta Winney-Baartz says Newcastle is a region that works as a “gateway” to the rest of the country.
Ms Winney-Baartz told Sky News host Paul Murray that the International Airport helps to connect people to Newcastle.
“We have a deep-water port that’s now diversifying as well.”
