UCSF Neuroscience professor and researcher Dr. Stephen Hauser has been honored for transforming the understanding and treatment of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Dr. Hauser has studied MS for nearly 50 years. He and his fellow researcher from Harvard have won the $3M 'Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences' for their findings, which have lead to new therapies to treat the immune disease more effectively, and even protect patients from attacks and disabilities related to MS.
