Thank you to RitsyReelz for the custom gameplay request and challenge! In this video, I play a BLANK HERO (custom hero with the standard statline of 2 THW/ATK/DEF, 10 HP, and no abilities) with a deck of ONLY basic cards. No identity, no identity-specific cards, and no aspect cards. Just 40 basic cards. I try to answer the question of if this deck is strong enough to defeat Expert Magneto.
Here is RitsyReelz' challenge for anyone who wants to try this:
"Basic Cards Are Too Powerful?
Intro
You've heard this mantra from a few content creators and from some fans. The idea that basic cards are so powerful it overshadows other cards. Perhaps they're right, maybe if you just shove in powerful basics you'll just win the game? Well, put that to the test.
Hero: The Blank
Grab a post-it note or piece of paper and draw on one side.
Alter-Ego
REC 3. Hand Size 6/Hit Points 10
On the otherside
Hero
THW 2, ATK 2, DEF 2, Hand size 5/Hit Points 10
You now have your 2-2-2, 3 Rec, 10 HP and 5/6 handsize hero.
Now you may write a SINGLE trait on The Blank's hero side. Examples include: SHIELD, X-Men, Web-Warrior, Aerial, Champion, Avenger, Guardian, Mystic, Psychic etc. etc.
Deck: Basic Cards
Your deck will be 40 basic cards. No hero cards, no aspect cards.
Villain: Magneto
Difficulty: Standard 1, Expert 2
The most 'fair' of the big three and perfect to test this.
Additional Rules
Any card that would bring out a 'Nemesis' related card is instead discarded and a new Encounter Card is revealed."
