Industri pertahanan Indonesia kembali mencatat sejarah dengan rencana pembangunan pabrik roket oleh PT Dirgantara Indonesia atau P-T-D-I di Tasikmalaya. Proyek ini merupakan hasil kerja sama dengan Thales dari Belgia, yaitu bagian dari Thales Group, yang akan membawa teknologi roket canggih ke tanah air. Dengan target produksi hingga 10000 unit roket per tahun, langkah ini diharapkan menjadi momentum penting dalam memperkuat sistem pertahanan nasional, terutama dalam menghadapi ancaman udara modern seperti drone dan pesawat tempur musuh. Berdasarkan pernyataan P-T-D-I, lisensi yang diperoleh dari Thales akan difokuskan untuk memproduksi sistem roket kaliber 70 Mili meter, sebuah teknologi yang telah terbukti dalam berbagai operasi militer dunia.
