Buran Pass, also known as Buran Ghati, is a high-altitude mountain pass in the Indian Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh, at an elevation of around 15,000 ft(4,572meters). It is the location of a challenging and popular trekking route that connects the Pabbar and Sangla valleys, known for its diverse landscapes including forests, meadows, and glacial lakes. The trek is considered moderate to difficult and is best attempted from May to early July or mid-September to October, over 40km long and takes around 7-8 days. The trek starts at Janglik, a small village in the Pabbar valley and finishes at Barua village in Sangla(Baspa) valley.
We did the trek in the summer (June 20th to 26th) of 2025.
Overall cost is around Rs/-14k to 17k (excluding transport cost) depends on the company, wheather Chandernahan lakes are included or not.
We did the trek with Soul Hikers. Our trek lead Tushar Vai and route guide Hrithik are the very best at what they do and very nice and brother like as a person. Hope to do many more treks in future with them.
