Root rot caused by Aphanomyces euteiches is a major disease of pea worldwide. The development of resistant varieties is essential to manage the disease. Genetic resistance of pea to A. euteiches is partial and under polygenic control. The webinar will present research advances in France to diversify, finely select and combine genetic determinants of resistance to Aphanomyces root rot to support pea breeding programs.
Marie-Laure Pilet-Nayel is a researcher at INRAE, Rennes, France. She is specialized in quantitative genetics, plant breeding, and disease resistance, particularly in legumes. Her work focuses on improving resistance to pests and diseases in crops like peas. She has contributed to numerous studies on genetic markers and breeding strategies for enhanced plant resilience.
