William C. Nolan (1894-1954) Is An American Animator & Director From The Golden Age Of Animation And Is Very Important To The Industry For Creating Rubber-Hose Animation Which Was Utilized in many Cartoons during the 1930's-50's But Before That He Started Of As An Artist On A Newspaper Comic Strip In 1913 He Later Went On To Serve The U.S Navy From 1917-1921 Once He was discharged He Worked For The Pat Sullivan Cartoon Studio Were He Was Animator On The Felix The Cat Cartoons From 1922-1926 Which While Animating The Cartoons He Redesigned Felix Giving Him His Iconic Design After That He Left The Studio In 1926 To Work For Wrinkler/Screen Gems On the Krazy Kat Cartoons Which He worked on for a few years until He Left and joined the newly opened Universal Cartoon Studio (Later Renamed To Walter Lantz Productions in 1935) were he worked on the oswald the lucky rabbit cartoons from 1929-1935 He left the latter year to work on Screen Gems Yet Again For A Short Period Of Time he left Screen Gems again and began working on "The Captain And the kids" Cartoons for MGM's Cartoon Studio in 1938 he later left and worked for Fleisher Studios from 1939-1941 on various projects he later left to join the navy were he drew technical manuals until he was let go in 1949 he formed a new productction company he later moved it to Madison, Wisconsin were he died on December 1954
