This Vanagon is the union of a 2WD Westfalia Camper and 4WD passenger van. Greg mated the two vans, swapped in a diesel engine and with his wife drove the van down to the southern tip of South America. The trip included operating elevations up to 18,000 ft, super fine desert sand and all-penetrating dust, extreme temperature changes and rugged roads. From that trip the global engine system was born.
I met Greg during his 8th (?) Pikes Peak attempt at breaking the diesel record in 2022. Race day weather was bad that year. If you're curious about this race project, boy you'll be stoked to hear we made two videos about it!
