EDIT: In this video (and maybe others) I said the factory pistons were forged. This came from several forums that I followed, but it seems like they were all referencing the same bad info from marketing on the XK, or referencing the F-type Arden SVR builds when talking about the stock 5.0. They were originally cast pistons from Kolbenschmidt. Sorry I didn't catch this until after posting, but it just underscores how difficult it is to find solid info on these engines!
In this video, I provide a detailed overview of the rotating assembly from the Jaguar AJ133 5.0L V8 engine (found in models like F-Type, XF, XJ, Range Rover, and more). We cover the crankshaft, main and rod bearings, connecting rods, and pistons – key components for any engine rebuild or performance upgrade.
This information applies similarly to the supercharged AJ133S variant (with differences like flat-top pistons and oil spray jets), and the general design is comparable to the AJ126 3.0L supercharged V6, though dimensions (bore/stroke) differ significantly.
