Product Spotlight: Holosun AEMS Red Dot Sight

Caleb brings us a little 'sun today: the compact, Holosun AEMS Advanced Enclosed Micro Sight. "Geez, not another red dot sight," you say? NO a very different, new type of red dot optic - and we're not just talking about its futuristic "Starship Trooper" looks! First, the illuminated reticle: at the push of a button, you can change the AEMS's reticle from a 2 MOA dot inside a 65 MOA circle with hash marks at each of the four quadrants, to just the 65 MOA circle-plus-hash-marks, or the 2 MOA dot alone. You've got ½ MOA adjustment clicks for windage and elevation at your fingertips. Holosun gave the AEMS two power sources: a CR-2032 battery with a 20,000- to 50,000-hour life AND a solar panel on top. Plus, the sight is smart enough to switch between the sources automatically without any dimming of the reticle. The AEMS is motion activated. If it sits totally still for 10 minutes, the reticle will automatically shut off to preserve the battery. Pick up the gun, and the reticle turns right back on. Reticle brightness automatically adjusts to the ambient light; you can also switch to manual brightness control. Caleb demos the very neat integral, spring-loaded lens covers. The AEMS offers a pleasantly wide field of view, and the minimal-profile housing makes it easy to see around the sight.
