MAP Sensor Cleaning - Volkswagen Polo 9N

Removing and cleaning the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor on a 2002 to 2009 VW Polo Mk4 9N with the 4-cylinder 1.4 liter petrol engine. The sensor should be cleaned with an approved MAP or MAF sensor cleaner.

Symptoms of a clogged or faulty MAP sensor include:

Poor fuel economy
Lack of power
Engine stalls or hesitates
High exhaust emissions
Rough idle
Hard starting
Illuminated check engine light
