Paris-Brest-Paris is the oldest cycling event starting just outside of Paris in Rambouillet and takes the particpants to the coastal town of Brest. The riders then follow the same route and head back to the starting point. PBP is considered as a cycling Olympiad as it takes place every 4 years. Because of this it attracts lots of participants from every corner of the world.
The aim is to to ride 1200 km with approximately 11000 meters of elevation within a specific time limit. There are 3 time limits 80 hours, 84 hours and 90 hours. As this was my first PBP I opted for the longest 90 hours.
For me this is my first participation in PBP. Have started cycling back in 2016 when I was in the UK, and did my first long distance event LEJOG with Sir Robert McAlpine as a charity bike ride for Maggie's Centers.
In this video, which is my first. I capture how the ride unfolded. Besides the cycling gear I am also carrying a gopro8 with 5 extra batteries. Need more practice how to shoot while cycling, so please bear with me.
