My first attempt at the 100km distance in the high desert of West Colorado near Grand Junction - the Desert Rats by UTMB. The race was washed out the day off, so we had the opportunity to run the 50km version of the trail running festival the following day. The race follows the Colorado River, with nice sections along the rim of the canyon.
