We are thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration between The Dallas Opera, Kirstin Chávez, and The University of Utah College of Fine Arts: 'Carmen Inside Out' is becoming a film! 💃🏻👏
This beloved one-woman tour de force, based on Bizet’s ‘Carmen,’ has captivated audiences for years, and now, with Kirstin’s iconic interpretation of ‘Carmen,’ we’re bringing her story to the screen.
With the soundtrack already recorded by The Dallas Opera Orchestra under Maestro Emmanuel Villaume—and Kirstin’s powerful voice as Carmen—we’re set to begin filming this May. The final film will stream worldwide on The Dallas Opera’s platforms in fall 2025.
