The Daily Shrink

When Sonic isn't around Eggman is quite compelled to put his evil schemes into action. But he forgot about the blue speedster's sidekick who was still able to interfere. Tails had always looked up to Sonic as a big brother, idolizing him, listening to every word he spoke, and generally eager to make the Blue Blur proud. The cheerful fox remembered a witty line that Sonic once dropped after beating Eggman into the ground. "A shrink a day keeps the doctor away". That time the spiky hero was actually referring to the process of shrinking since that is what he did to Eggman.

Every time Tails recalled that event he remembered how overly joyful Sonic was after giving the shrunken villain a couple of stomps with his bare feet. Even as the fox imagined the scenario it made him tingly and quite a bit jealous too. Exposing your arch enemy to a treatment like that sounded deliciously satisfying given how much he deserved a good pounding. And today was Tails' big chance. It would be an easy one-on-one with his invention, the matter resizer, or how Sonic preferred to call it 'Shrink Ray'.

The fox boy was already bursting with excitement as he prepared to confront the egg-shaped villain in the sunny Green Hills. His heartbeat was overwhelming his entire body, so much so that he couldn't hear Eggman's egomaniac monologue. There was only one thing on the boy's mind and he was incredibly determined to put it into action. With a mere pull of a trigger, Eggman found himself dwindling down alongside his Eggmobile. It seemed like the beam had also damaged some of the circuitry within Eggman's vehicle as it lost full control and crashed down.

Tails who observed every second of it passionately was now sparkling up with enjoyment. The young genius had never felt so powerful before even though he hadn't confronted the shrunken man yet. He swiftly kicked off his shoes as a final preparation before walking up to the spot where Eggman had 'vanished'. Each footfall on the grass was accompanied with a bright mischievous smile while Tails imagined that any second now he would feel the puny villain underneath his naked sole. Sonic would certainly be proud of his little buddy, although right now he surely was anything but little compared to the runt below him.
