Merry Christmas & Happy New year! Here are a couple of simple Christmas arrangements from the Dec'21/Jan'22 edition of Yamaha Club Magazine. As always, the registrations I've used are available free to subscribers to the magazine.
The first piece, Jingle Bells, is used to feature the Chord Looper feature on the Genos and SX keyboards. It's great to use because it allows you to make a very simple recording of the left hand chords - then let the recording take over the job of playing them during your performance of the song. I've used it here for the chorus part of the song, which left my left hand free to play a countermelody using the left hand voice part.
The second piece, 'A Last Christmas' puts a couple of traditional Christmas standards together in the style of the great pops bands/orchestras of the 1960s/'70s. It's a fun mix of James Last (Hammond AGogo) and Herb Alpert and some of the sounds we loved back in the day.
