We are wrapping up this project, and overall it went pretty well. Tried a few new things, some worked, others not so much. But, we learned and corrected issues, resulting an an beautiful instrument.
With the paint work down, the sanding prep for polishing was next at hand. Using Super Assilex dry sanding papers to do the bulk of the work. An interesting thing, I checked the clear-coat film build, and it measured at 0.005" (0.127mm) thick before sanding. That's pretty thin.
Figuring out the wiring and control placement followed. I couldn't decide what controls to install, finally deciding on 1 vol, 1 neck tone, and 1 bridge varitone type setup. I initially wired my own varitone switch, but something went sideways, resulting in a terrible hum. So, plan B stepped in and saved the day. Replacing my varitone switch with a Passive Tone Enhancer - G (PTE-G) switch.
PTE-G purchased from The Tone Monster on ebay.

Final assembly soon followed and a final setup revealed a slight issue at the first fret. I had to take a couple thousandths off the top and recrown, then final fret polishing and a few tweaks to the setup.
It's ready for Rock n' Roll!
Thanks for joining me during this project. I hope you've enjoyed to show.
Be safe and take care of yourself and those around you!
