When I first heard this about 20 years ago, I thought this was one of the most fantastic arrangements I'd ever heard. And I still think so today. Paul Mickelson was many things to the world of sacred music some 30-40 years ago. But here, he's playing an organ/piano duet with his good friend and fellow musician, Rudy Atwood, who was equally as famous. If you remember, Rudy was the pianist on the Old Fashioned Revival Hour. Their playing styles greatly complement each other. Both men are long gone but their music lives on through the magic of Youtube. I imagine they're playing together even now in heaven. This is from the album "Keyboard Rhapsodies." Of special note, both versions of this particular hymn are used so be listening. On another side note, whenever Paul played the organ for an album, he either played Lorin Whitney's Robert Morton Theatre Pipe Organ or a Conn (I think he had some sort of contract with them). On this particular song, though, he's unmistakably playing a Hammond organ (as it should be).
