Hey there, it's Evangeline right here at etrailer. Today we are gonna be talking about the Thule ReVert cable lock. Now, this is gonna be an add-on cable lock to be used with your Thule ReVert bike racks. This creates an integrated cable lock since it installs right into the bike rack. We'll talk about if this is worth it, how this works, as well as if this is gonna be the right fit for you and your bikes. This cable secures into itself and it is gonna be 98 inches long.

So this does work with both the ReVert 4 as well as the ReVert 6. Now, this is what it looks like wrapped around three bikes. You can run this around the frames, the wheels, things like that. It mainly is gonna be more of a security deterrent though, recommended to be used whenever you're parked, if you're just going for a quick little trip inside and you wanna make sure that your bikes are secure. So while it seems like a shorter cable, especially once you venture into the six bikes loaded on the rack, this will still do the job of being quick and easy to set up.

The integrated aspect of it comes from the lock that you install inside the top bar of your bike rack. So with the included keys, you can lock and unlock your cable, which just pops into place in the unlock position. This will not click, which is a good thing in case you forgot to bring your keys. You do need to use this in order to fully utilize your cable lock. And since your keys are gonna be the same type of keys as you use with your bike rack, what I actually recommend doing is taking a look at the Thule One-Key System available here on the website.

Those are just sets of different lock cores that are all keyed alike, and that way you can switch out your old lock cores, and then you don't have to figure out which key set you use. You only need to use one key to get access to both things. And being able to key things alike is probably gonna be the biggest selling point for this add-on, because if you're looking just for security, any old cable lock will do. The one that you use when you're riding around, you need to secure your bike to the parking spot, that will work with this bike rack because you really are only supposed to be using cable locks when you are parked. But if you are looking for something that makes it a lot easier, works well with your bike rack, then getting this integrated into your bike rack, I think would then be worth it.

So hopefully this just helps explain that and helps you pick what is the best for you. As for getting it installed, that process is super simple. Stick around. To install your cable lock, it does include some tools, but the one tool you do need is gonna be a flathead screwdriver, and we're gonna use that to remove this end cap. There's this hole underneath the bar, and you're gonna use that screwdriver to press on that tab. And then that way you can pry out this end cap. You're also gonna use the edges of the screwdriver to pry out this other cap underneath. Now, get your lock and you'll want the lock core to be facing the outside. We're just gonna slide that on in until the tabs on that lock fit into the holes of our bike rack. And if it doesn't immediately click in, don't worry, because you also have these included bolts that we're going to use to thread to that lock. Use the included security tool to tighten those bolts down. And that's about it. Your final step is to put the end cap (end cap thumping) back onto the end, and you're done with the install. You can now use this lock core with the included cable to secure your bikes. But today this is a look at the Thule integrated cable lock for your Thule ReVert bike racks at etrailer.
