The Living Sisters offer “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down,” a song rooted in harmony and connection that reflects tending to our communities and staying present to the world around us. In blending their voices, The Living Sisters echo the idea that harmony itself can be a model for how we care for the Earth by listening, balancing, and acting together. The Living Sisters is a Los Angeles–based harmony group featuring Inara George, Alex Lilly, Eleni Mandell, and Becky Stark. Formed out of friendship and a shared love of singing, the quartet blends their distinct musical backgrounds—spanning folk, pop, jazz, and experimental songwriting—into a sound that is warm, playful, and timeless. Their harmonies nod to classic vocal groups while carrying a modern, individual spirit. Together, The Living Sisters have released three albums: Love to Live (2010), Run for Cover (2013), and Harmony Is Real: Songs for a Happy Holiday (2014). Whether on record or on stage, they bring humor, heart, and a deep sense of camaraderie—proof that harmony is as much about friendship as it is about music. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
