Our area has been hit with a serious drought, with over a month and a half without a single inch of rain. In this video, I'm giving you an honest look at my garden at the end of September. You'll see what's thriving, what's struggling, and what's been a little neglected!
Join me as I tour the garden and check on our grape trellis, tomatoes, and new fall plantings like sugar snap peas. I'll also show you some unexpected surprises, like the progress of my red roselle hibiscus and a massive sweet potato vine. You'll get to see the good, the bad, and the very weedy reality of gardening in a drought.
I'm still getting a great harvest, but it's clear the garden needs some love. Come along for a realistic look at what it takes to keep things going when the weather isn't cooperating.
In this tour, we'll see:
The state of my grape trellis and how the drought has affected the grapes.
Copy of Garden Question and Answer
An update on our tomatoes, okra, and green beans.
The first look at our chickpeas and other late-season plants.
The beautiful sunflowers and other flowers still in bloom.
A closer look at the red roselle hibiscus and sweet potato vines.
A peek at my cold-hardy kiwis and walking onions.
