TWO FACED! COMING OR GOING? '53 CHEVY/PONTIAC COMBO! TAKE A RIDE IN THIS ONE OF A KIND ODDITY!

Just when you think you've seen it all you come across Randy Alling's one of a kind 2 in 1 car!
Randy is an interesting guy who has a propensity for unusual automobiles, but also has owned many hot rods and classic muscle cars. Randy acquired his first car, a 4 door '63 Chevy Corvair at age 15, trading a garden tractor which he used to cut grass with for it. The car didn't run but Randy with the help of his father tinkered with it and they got it roadworthy. That was just the start of a pattern where Randy would buy cars to fix it up and sell, trading up to get the nicer ones he desired. Over his lifetime Randy has owned over 100 cars including a Pulse Auto Cycle (the yellow airplane looking thing) to his favorite a '41 Famoso Speed Shop Willys (last photo). Randy's plans for the future are waiting on his new '21 C8 Corvette to be built and continue to show the car at local car shows. Randy said his greatest reward is not the trophies the car receives but the smiles it puts on everyone's faces!
The car...
Not a lot of history is known about the car other than it was built many years ago by a gentleman in Kentucky. It was purchased as part of an estate sale in Louisiana and then traded to Randy. Apparently the car has changed hands numerous times over the years as people had seen it in Wisconsin and Chicago years ago. The fabrication and technical information is also somewhat of a mystery. What is known is the car is a combination of a '53 Pontiac Chieftain and a '53 Chevy Bel Air. What car frame was used is unknown but it has not been cut. Did they use the Pontiac or Chevy and if so how did they get the wheels to fit perfectly in the wheel openings and look so symmetrical? The top or dome in this case looks to possibly be from another car perhaps? There are no signs of welding and if it is the two original car tops cut and welded together it is a superb job. One would think it would be original tops due to the amount of work involved to adapt the original windshields but who knows. One thing known is the original dashboards and steering wheels were used along with the chevy drivetrain. All in all it is an example of great craftsmanship tastefully done no matter how you look at it. Only thing to one up it would be having the car operate normally in each direction which would be an engineering feat along with breaking the bank! #oddity #clowncar #weird
