In this week’s episode Chef Dawn Burrell is back. Executive Chef and Partner of her forthcoming restaurant Late August in Houston, Chef Burrell shares her take on the Southern classic fried green tomatoes. Mid-summer is peak tomato season, but she uses unripe tomatoes, which are less juicy and have a citrusy flavor. Chef Burrell tops the dish with a rendition of crab salad, flecked with bell and scotch bonnet peppers for color and heat, tossed with a warm curry vinaigrette.
