Welp I did it again. Here's the second result of my adventures in the south Chicago suburbs. After the 10AM test in Blue Island, I high-tailed it over to Tinley Park to catch this thunderbolt going off for the 10:30 AM test. I arrived with a few minutes to spare so I had a decent amount of time to figure out how I wanted to record. There was a minor problem though. SCHOOL WAS STILL IN SESSION!!! (Jeez Tinley Park School District, y'all are EVIL for keeping the kids at school that late into the summer!) It was the last day of school for Tinley Park Schools too. SO, that meant that a TON of kids were outside on the nearby playground. And there I was in almost plain sight pointing a camera in the same direction as an elementary school full of kids... not a smart move on my part. That looked really suspicious. A few people who were mowing the lawn nearby gave me a few suspicious looks, but thankfully there was no trouble. Pro tip, if you're filming a siren that is near/on school property, VERIFY THAT SCHOOL IS NOT IN SESSION THAT DAY so you don't end up getting questioned or worse. All went well except for the wind violating my microphone but it's no biggie. The second I stopped recording, I got out of there like my hair was on fire. I was not in the mood to stick around.
