I need to mention that some luthiers use shellac, glue, or some other materials to seal and cover inside the bowl after paper strips, which may be helpful for very humid climates. I don't find it necessary. These paper strips completely handle the job for us.
Linen fabric or a very thin layer of mullbary wood is the oldest method I could find that makers used for this task in the very old days.
