Applications are now being accepted for the next session of the Building Futures apprenticeship training program.
Conducted by the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio, Building Futures is a 12-week class that prepares participants for major regional projects such as the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project. The program’s goal is to help graduates obtain living-wage jobs in the building and construction trades.
The Urban League conducts the first three weeks of the program, focusing on skills such as financial literacy and interviewing techniques. The remainder of the program consists of a curriculum developed and taught by local building trade unions.
To apply, visit https://www.ulgso.org/buildingfutures. The application period ends Jan. 8.
Classes, which are conducted Monday through Thursday from 5:30 to 8 p.m., begin Feb. 23.
In addition to the Ohio Department of Transportation, program sponsors include the Cincinnati Building and Construction Trades Council, Hamilton County Office of County Commissioners, AFL-CIO and TradesFutures.
