Welcome back to Relaxing Weekend Drives! In this thrilling second episode of the Monsoon Lonavala 2025 series, we take on one of the most adventurous and scenic routes near Mumbai and Pune — the climb to Lion’s Point and Tiger’s Point in Lonavala. And yes, we did it the hardcore monsoon way: early morning, zero visibility, heavy rain, thick fog, and narrow ghat roads!
We drove from Lonavala Lake to the iconic viewpoints, navigating sharp hairpin bends and steep climbs in our trusted Brezza Facelift, equipped with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine. Road Condition: Slippery due to rain; drive only if you are confident with hilly terrains.

Mini waterfall near the edge — active only in monsoon
The cliff's shape resembles a leaping tiger, hence the name
Nearby places: Bhushi Dam, Lonavala Lake, and INS Shivaji

Location: Lonavala-Aamby Valley Road
Approx Distance from Lonavala Station: 12–14 km
Drive Time (Monsoon): \~30–45 minutes (may vary based on visibility and traffic)
Best Time to Visit:
Monsoon (June–September) – For lush greenery, clouds, fog, and waterfalls
Post-Monsoon (Oct–Feb) – For clearer views and cool weather
Must Carry:
Raincoat/Umbrella
Extra clothes if you get wet
Warm layers for early morning trips
Full tank fuel if going further toward Aamby Valley (limited petrol pumps)
