A Nest in Transition: Eagles, Absence & New Life - Eagle Country Nest (1/7-1/11)

The Eagle Country nest has entered a season of change.

Once home to resident eagles Blaze & Skye, the nest has recently seen a surprising shift. Blaze has not been seen for some time, and Skye’s visits gradually became fewer before she, too, seemed to disappear. While questions remain unanswered, the landscape itself reminds us that nature is always moving, always adapting.

These clips capture the broader life surrounding the nest during this in-between time. Bald eagles still pass through the area - some juveniles - and the river continues to host a rich mix of wildlife, including sandhill cranes and other familiar neighbors.

Then, in a remarkable turn, new eyes appear in the nest. A pair of Great Horned Owls quietly take up residence - roosting, bonding, feeding… and as of January 11, laying eggs of their own. The nest, though changed, is once again filled with purpose and potential.

This video is a gentle reminder that nests are not just places - they are stories. And sometimes, when one chapter closes, another begins in ways we never expect.
