Monthly hormonal fluctuations affect the skin and it sucks!
I have been dealing with acne for so long and this channel alone documents the past 2 years of my struggle, trying all kinds of topical acne treatments - from Azelaic acid and Salicylic acid to hardcore skin creams like tretinoin and hydroquinone.

I was prescribed Doxycycline 100mg in March 2022. The end skin results that you see in this video are exactly 12 weeks after taking my first antibiotic capsule.
My spots were incredible painful and somewhat itchy. They were hard to miss 🙃 in 4 weeks of differin and doxycycline use, I have seen a dramatic decrease in my pimples and the redness continues to go down.
I am still going to have quite the battle with my pigmentation though.
For that reason I have also started at home microneedling. #acnejourney

🦋Doxycycline side effects?🦋
The common side effects for doxycycline include:
Headaches
Feeling sick (nausea)
Being sick (vomiting)
Skin being sensitive to sunlight

I personally did not experience any of the above common side effects. I was able to take my antibiotics with food which usually helps with the side effects mentioned. This differs from person to person and may be more prominent with higher doses.

Dryness is a very common side effect with retinoids. I have adapted to retinoids over a long period of time, so my skin is not as dry as it has been in the past. For instance, when I was using tretinoin (a stronger retinoid than adapalene) my skin was VERY DRY!!
I still use great moisturisers though to help combat the small amount of dryness I have thanks to the differin. #acneprone #doxycycline #acnetreatment #microneedling
