A holiday to Scotland gave me the opportunity to have another crack at filming the steam hauled Jacobite on the beautiful west highland line. The tour runs from Fort William-Mallaig daily and is hauled by either a LMS Black five or a LNER K1 class. The weather this year was a mixed bag with rain and sun mixed in making filming tricky sometimes but was still very much worth it. For Monday and Tuesday LNER K1 class No. 62005 hauled the tour. On Wednesday it seemed a bit of a disaster. I arrived in Fort William to find out a Class 37 was hauling the tour. I still captured some footage of 37516 leaving Fort William but thereafter finding out that i didn't switch my microphone on i got no sound.
On Thursday and Friday it was business as usual and LMS Black five No. 44871 was given a run out on the Jacobite. It was certainly unusual seeing three different locomotives hauling the Jacobite in the same week. Here is a list of the footage:
1. LNER K1 No. 62005 at Corpach.
2. LNER K1 No. 62005 at Beasdale tunnel.
3. LNER K1 No. 62005 crossing Glenfinnan viaduct.
4. LNER K1 No. 62005 departing Fort William.
5.LMS Black five No. 44871 passing Fort William yard.
6.LMS Black five No. 44871 at Fassfern.
7.LMS Black five No. 44871 at Morar.
8.LMS Black five No. 44871 at Glenfinnan.
The footage was taken during the 21st and the 25th September 2015. Hope you enjoy the footage and thanks for watching.
