With just a couple days until the planned inaugural ATR-72-500F service on this particular route, I’ve been trying to get some final glimpses of this old bird while it still visits on weekdays…even if that means braving the 40 degree Celsius heat and forest fire smoke to get the shot.
This footage was taken yesterday afternoon between 5 and 6pm. Typically this flight leaves about 20 minutes after its arrival, but to an ATC flow delay into Vancouver, the aircraft ended up spending about an hour on the ground here at YKA.
Because of this delay, I was lucky enough to get invited into the flight deck once again to spend some time chatting with the pilots and enjoying the 70 year old cockpit. Special thank you to Captain Graham and First Officer Jacob for the opportunity!
