‘Beneath thy Compassion’, the third single taken from APOLLO5’s upcoming album ‘Anam’, is a new arrangement of an anthem by Welsh composer Paul Mealor, written especially for the group for a concert at London’s Cadogan Hall in June 2023. Mealor is perhaps best-known for composing a new setting of the Kyrie for the Coronation of King Charles III. 'Beneath Thy Compassion’ unfolds with pleasing chordal homophony and soaring descants that sculpt a humble prayer, reflecting the piousness of the ancient Greek text.
Anam is released on 24th January 2025 by VOCES8 Records.
