We recently paid a visit to the studio of SP One, here's what we saw.
Greg Lamarche, also known as SP ONE, is a New York-born artist whose work captures the energy, elegance, and rebellious spirit of urban creativity. Drawing inspiration from the city's relentless pace and its graffiti roots, Lamarche creates intricate paper collages using found materials and vintage printed matter. His compositions abstract graffiti’s visual language through bold colors, layered typography, and rhythmic repetition, blending the directness of graphic design with the depth of fine art.
A graffiti writer since 1981 and publisher of the influential magazine Skills in the early '90s, Lamarche has worked as both a fine artist and graphic designer since 2000. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Juxtapoz, Modern Painters, The Financial Times, and more.
