This video provides a guideline on How to Convert Mole Percent to Mass Percent, using both Excel and Open Lab Intelligent Report. Likewise, this procedure can also be applied to any other UNIT CONVERSION tasks.
Often Certificate of Analysis (COA) of your calibration blends may express in one unit of measurement, e.g. Mole percent, but you would like to express the final report in another unit, e.g. Mass percent. A quick way around this is to convert the COA unit using Excel and enter those converted concentrations into the calibration table. However doing so may pose to some audit issues as an auditor may question why the numbers in COA and Calibration table do not match. A better approach would be to still perform the calibration in the original unit listed in the COA then convert the results to another unit of interest and have both units attached in the final report. Both Excel and Openlab Chemstation Intelligent Report can do that but the later gives you a further option to automate the conversion process without the need of copying the data into Excel. The video will show you exactly how to do that.
