Together with our partners at WardWilliams Creative, it’s a chance to share the stories of those who are passionate about what they create, and equally passionate about the why and how of what they do.

Edition_008 is a view into not only the world of drawing… but also an investigation into what having the heart of an artist means, when it has so many meanings.

Jake Spicer, the founder and Head Tutor at Draw - Brighton (UK) takes us on a journey through his artistic life, delving into the reasons why he was driven to create something, that would in turn inspire and then help others to create.

Inspirations, mentors, collaborators, passion, plans, designs and ideas - all leading to the building of a vibrant life-drawing community hub on the UK’s South Coast. One that is now plugged into an incredible global family of artists, life models and individuals who draw/paint/sculpt for an infinite number of reasons.

This is a film about life-drawing, a film about the pandemic and the pivot, it’s a film about what it takes to survive and thrive in the most complex of landscapes… but it’s also about the vital importance of human connection, the drive for soulful and meaningful contribution to something larger than self, yet it’s also about a very simple desire and a passion to create… whatever that looks like.
