We usually spend our summer vacation in the Oak Island, North Carolina area each year. During our stay, we often take a short 20-minute drive to Southport, NC, to shop and dine. We adore this charming port town near the mouth of the Cape Fear River. Southport boasts numerous unique shops, and a variety of restaurants, and is very walkable.

We make it a point to try a different restaurant each visit. This year, we chose to dine at The Frying Pan Restaurant. Situated right on the bay, it offers stunning views of the ocean, boats, and cargo ships.
