It was such a beautiful day yesterday with the light fog and some blue skies, making it a picturesque day! Sunset Beach on Crooked Lake is a community with a history of recreational use and a connection to Indigenous lands, situated within the traditional territories of Treaty 4 and Treaty 6. The area has been developed for recreation since at least 1920, with the Criddle family establishing a popular campground. Geologically, Crooked Lake itself has a history formed by sinkhole collapses, and Sunset Beach is located near Crooked Lake Provincial Park. The closest major communities to Sunset Beach on Crooked Lake are Grenfell and Broadview, and Grayson Saskatchewan, with the Sunset Beach Hamlet being a community itself located on the beach, situated on the northeastern shore of Crooked Lake, with access via Highway 247.
