Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia Prevention Initiative (HAPPI) Commits to Patient Safety

Barbara Quinn, RN and Nurse Researcher for Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia Prevention Initiative (HAPPI), announces HAPPI's commitment to patient safety and explains some of the work that has been completed in researching Ventilator-associated Pneumonia (VAP) and Non Ventilator-associated Hospital Acquired Pneumonia (NVHAP). While there are national requirements to report VAP, there are no requirements to report any other case of pneumonia. The mission of HAPPI is to prevent NVHAP.
