Mine of Lost Souls at Canobie Lake Park 2025

After 33 years of being open the Mine of Lost Souls at Canobie Lake Park is still going strong. There are a couple of things that need fixing, but regardless, this classic dark ride still holds up to this day and still gets a long line of people wanting to ride it. Here are a few noteworthy things this season:

-The first animatronic at the beginning of the ride is still broken with only its head movement, eye movement, and mouth movement working.

-The light for the grim reaper in the Peppers ghost effect is now much darker. It was changed sometime at the end of June.

-The Hollander brothers corpses were illuminated on opening day but the lights have been off since sometime soon after opening day. I'm pretty sure the monitor on the bottom left of the crypt has been replaced.

-The mummy animatronics leaning movement is not working.

-The fuse effect at the end of the ride was working on opening day and for several weeks after but it has since stopped working.

This is all understandable considering the rides age and the fact the park is in daily operations. Even with these effects broken the ride is still a classic that will hopefully be around for many years to come. This ride and Ghost Hunt at Lake Compounce are my childhood dark rides and I love them both.

This ride is a Sally Dark Ride and it opened in 1992.
