My longplay of the Atari 2600 versions starts at 11:50
Brief explanation for the new generations that never played this game in the past (like me, that grew up almost at the end of the NES era):
1) The square: you;
2) The bat: item thief;
3) Three dragons: needed to be killed;
4) Yellow arrow: sword for killing dragons;
5) “U” shaped magnet: to attract farther objects;
6) Square brackets: the bridge;
7) Yellow key: to open the yellow castle door;
8) White key: to open the white castle door;
9) Black key: to open the black castle door;
10) Chalice: bring it to the yellow castle to win the game;
11) Gray dot: hidden in the black castle for an easter egg. I’ll make another video about this.
The game has three level skills:
Level one: with a more simplified map;
Level two: with a bigger map but items are still in fixed spots;
Level three: same map of level two, but items are randomly placed and dragons are faster.
Talking about the NES version: considering it is a homebrew porting from A2600 to NES (an excellent porting TBH), it is well made and very, very similar to the original, talking about map layout and graphics.
Most of the sound effects are from early 1983 famicom games such as Gomoku Narabe Renjuu.
Whoever made it… chapeau!!
