HOW TO COOK CHIKALANG | TABID-TABID BANG BANG TAUSUG

TABID-TABID (CHIKALANG TAUSUG BANG BANG) is a Tausug, Filipino delicacy, it is popular everywhere in Minsupala specially Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Basilan & Zambaoanga. Tausug's prefer to eat it with native coffee or Kahawa Sug, it is soft and flavorful on the inside.
Try this simple delicacy that will make you want more.
Ingredients:
1. In a bowl mix 2 cups of Glutinous Rice Flour, half cup of regular Flour, 1 tbsp. of Violet Food Color dissolved in water, 1 cup and 2 Tbsp of Water. Form into dough.
2. On a clean surface scatter some flour to avoid dough sticking to surface, elongate dough and cut it into equal portions, shape the dough with your palm into semi round shape, elongate the dough by rolling it with your palm or onto the surface and twirl the dough to form Tabid-Tabid shape.
3. Heat a frying pan over medium to low fire, pour in cooking oil enough to cover the dough and heat it.
4. Add dough into the pan, enough pieces as to never crowd the pan or it will not cook well.
5. Fry 2-3 mins on each side
6. Remove the cooked dough and fry remaining uncooked dough.
7. On a low flame heated pan, add half cup of Sugar and a little bit of Water, mix well and then add a little bit of Vanilla and mix well until Sugar is fully dissolved.
8. Add the fried Dough and coat it well with the glaze.
9. Remove from the pan and serve!
