心理健康,在繁忙生活中容易被忽视,尤其在现今的疫情时代,人们容易情绪焦虑、忧郁等状况。那到底心理疾病的根源在哪?要怎么预防?新加坡慈济实联会邀约知名心理医生杨新发医生主讲四场讲座,以科学角度为民众剖析,如何预防心理疾病,好好与心共处。

新加坡心理医生 杨新发医生:现在很多年轻人晚上不睡觉,熬夜,暴饮暴食,过度依赖手机与电脑,少用大脑去思考,会导致海马体提早退化与萎缩,医学上就叫做数码失智症。
杨新发医生是新加坡知名的心理医生,三月份开始,在新加坡慈济实联会的邀请下,主讲四场以专业角度,从根源去分析优质睡眠、忧郁症、预防失智症等主题的讲座。
新加坡心理医生 杨新发:抑郁症,很多人不知道这个跟大脑影响情绪的神经传导物质有密切关系,很多人没有这个知识,因为没有人向他们解释。所以这次我讲的四个课题,提高免疫力,跟大家都有密切关系,优质睡眠是现代人最严重的问题,有一半的人睡不好觉。所以你有科学依据解释的话,有说服力的话,人家就会根据你的讲法去实行。
慈济志工 施秋妘:我以为他会来辅导那些心理上有问题的人,让他的思维转念,就这样而已,原来他每一场都有不一样的环节,医生每一场都会很详细去解剖,为什么会造成这样,所以每一次都会有惊喜的出现。
生活中经历的大小事,都牵引着不同的情绪,调整生活步调,保持健康的生活习惯可预防心理疾病。当然,若发现身心出现状况,及早寻求专业辅助或治疗也是很重要的。

Abstract:
Mental health is easily neglected when life gets busy. Especially during the pandemic, people are prone to suffering from various emotional issues such as anxiety and depression. So, what are the root causes of mental illnesses? How do we prevent them? Tzu Chi Singapore Entrepreneur Association invited well-known Psychiatrist Dr Yeo Seem Huat to deliver four seminars on different mental health topics and show ways to safeguard our mental health.

Tzu Chi volunteer, Goh Lam Kia: We were anxious about what should be done next because we hoped to present the best image to the audience so that everyone could listen attentively to Dr Yeo’s sharing.
Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr Yeo Seem Huat: Nowadays, many young people stay up late or do not sleep at night. They also overeat, over rely on mobile phones and computers and think less, all these can lead to the degeneration and premature shrinking of the hippocampus. In medical terms, this is called digital dementia.
Dr Yeo Seem Huat is a famous Psychiatrist in Singapore. Starting from March, at the invitation of Tzu Chi Singapore Entrepreneur Association, Dr Yeo delivered four seminars where he analysed the root causes of health issues including sleep disorder, depression, dementia prevention from a professional perspective.
Psychologist, Dr Yeo Seem Huat: Many people do not know that depression is closely related to the neurotransmitters that affect the emotions in our brain. Many people do not know this because nobody explains it to them. So, the four topics I’m covering and improving immunity are closely related to everyone. Having quality sleep is the most severe issue modern people are facing, half of the population are not sleeping well. So, if you are explaining with a scientific basis and persuasive, people will do according to what you say.
Tzu Chi volunteer, See Siew Hoon: I thought he would only counsel people with mental issues to enable them to change their thinking. It turns out that he shares different things in each seminar. He would explain in detail about what causes the problem, so there are always surprises in each session.
The major and minor experiences in our life all lead to different emotions. By adjusting our pace of life and maintaining healthy living habits, we can prevent mental illness. Of course, it is also crucial to seek professional assistance and treatment early when we don't feel well.
