Alchemy: The Sacred Union (Hieros Gamos): The Syzygy of the King and the Queen

This one was a bit of a spontaneous riff on one of the central ideas to the Alchemical 'Magnum Opus' (Great Work).

This concept has been "hidden" in symbolism and arcane jargon for many centuries...

This is because the Alchemists themselves made conscious attempts to obscure their essential message...

Fortunately, Carl Jung essentially dedicated his life to an exegesis of the Alchemical literature. And as a consequence a higher-resolution understanding of what they were going on about is more accessible to the common consciousness of humanity. What a gift.

The goal of Alchemy was the attainment of the "Philosopher's Stone" or the "Lapis Philosophorum". Here I make an attempt to elucidate what this could mean for us, here and now...

I'm trying to sketch a "way" of being which stands at the nexus between two states of awareness 'Discriminatory Consciousness' (Masculine Principle) and 'Integrative Unconsciousness' (Feminine Principle). We might say the Word and the Dream. Order and Chaos. Boundary and Flow.

Regardless, this idea is kind of like a Zen Koan in that it will frustrate the Intellect (Discriminatory Consciousness) in its attempts to "box" it...

As Bruce Lee expresses in 'Enter the Dragon':

"Don't think, feel.
It is like a finger pointing to the moon.
Don't concentrate on the finger or
you will miss all the heavenly glory"
