My w123 had an oil leak so working through the problem list, I thought I would replace the lower oil sump. As of 2025, it is still available and not particularly expensive. It seems this sump is on a number of cars, from 123s, 126, 116s, pagodas, /8's and so on. The part numbers used include
123 010 0028 oil pan
002 997 34 30 pan plug
007 603 010 112 pan plug crush washer
617 014 01 80 oil pain gasket
110 180 03 55 oil pickup strainer
The pan bolts are done to 11nm, whilst the oil pain plug is to 40nm. The oil filter housing is done up to 35nm but please check these to your own standards.
