Excessive Expectation Cognitive Syndrome (EECS) refers to a psychological pattern where individuals set unrealistically high expectations for themselves or others, leading to constant disappointment, frustration, and anxiety. This syndrome can result from societal pressures, past experiences, or perfectionistic tendencies. People with EECS often struggle with feelings of inadequacy, self-criticism, and an inability to accept failure. Over time, these unrealistic expectations can impair emotional well-being, hinder personal growth, and disrupt relationships. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is often used to address EECS by helping individuals identify and challenge irrational thought patterns and develop healthier, more realistic expectations.
