Black Hole Skimmers® for aquariums efficiently and effectively clean the surface water in your aquarium. They are designed to work with Marineland Penguin Power Heads but can also work with other types of power heads, pumps, and filter intakes. In this video we are using a Marineland powerhead 660 (170 gallons per hour) power head to power our Black Hole Skimmer™.
Black Hole Aquarium Skimmers rid the surface of the water in your tank of oils, plant debris, uneaten food, and any other small floating debris. The large body, three inches in diameter, allows for different types of filtering media to be used with the skimmer. The addition of filter media makes it a powerful aquarium filter. For example, filter floss can be used for general filtering. Polishing pads can be added to clarify the water in the tank. Also, products like Marineland’s NeoLite can be added for nitrate blooms, which may be associated with adding new fish.
This model is a prototype, look for retail models from Black Hole Skimmers® in late Summer 2020.
