I present here a small video compilation of an isolated non-severe thunderstorm cluster that affected this general area during the late-afternoon period, including the island of Montreal (specifically, the East End). The (elevated) thunderstorm was associated with a shortwave trough, as well as some mild instability induced by somewhat steep mid-level cooling rates and substantial solar heating. Sufficiently deep WNW shearing fields also allowed for some sustenance.
Photographs were taken in SW Pierrefonds, located in Montreal’s West Island. Radar imagery is courtesy of NOAA.
