PESCO - Permanent Structured Cooperation - aims to deepen defence cooperation between Member States. 26 Participating countries have committed to invest, plan, develop and operate defence capabilities together.
PESCO is one of the key EU defence initiatives; together with the Coordinated Annual Review on Defence and the European Defence Fund.
It combines cooperative defence projects and binding commitments from its 26 participating Member States. Member States can decide in which projects they want to participate.
