Adopting with Happy Tails Cat Shelter
WORKING WITH ADVANCED ANIMATION, FORMATTING, AND COLLABORATION
PROJECT STEPS
1. You are the owner of a small cat shelter that rescues local cats and adopts them out to new homes. To help prospective first-time cat adopters understand the adoption process, you have created a presentation outlining the Six Steps for Adopting a Cat.
Begin by resizing the slides in the presentation to Widescreen.
2. On the Title Slide, reply to the comment on Slide 1 with the text Agree and then close the Comments pane.
3. Find the text "Buy" and replace it with Purchase. (Hint: Do not type the period.)
4. Switch to Slide Sorter view, and work with sections in the presentation as follows:
5. Display the Comments pane, and then modify comments in the presentation as follows:
a. On Slide 2 ("Why Adopt?"), insert a comment with the text: Adorable photo!
b. Edit the comment on Slide 5 ("Step 3: Apply to Adopt") by replacing "interview" with application. (Hint: Do not type the period.)
c. Delete the comment on Slide 7 ("Step 5: Prepare your Home").
6. On Slide 2 ("Why Adopt?"), enhance the picture as follows:
a. Change the height to 3".
b. Apply an Orange, Accent 1 (5th column, 1st row in the Theme Colors gallery) picture border with a 6 point border weight.
c. Apply the Pastels Smooth Artistic Effect.
d. Add the alt text in the Description box: A close-up photograph of an orange and white kitten.
e. Turn on Smart Guides and position the picture as shown in Figure 1.
7. With Slide 2 ("Why Adopt?") still displaying, modify the bullet symbol as follows:
a. Change the bullet to the Arrow Bullets symbol for all three bullets.
b. Change the color of the bullet symbol to Olive Green, Text 2 (4th column, 1st row in the Theme Colors gallery.
c. Change the line spacing of the bullet points to 1.5.
8. On Slide 3 ("Step 1: Research Cat Ownership"), change the list numbering style to 1), 2), 3).
9. On Slide 4 ("Step 2: Choose Your Cat"), format the bulleted text in two columns and modify as follows:
a. Change the spacing between the two columns to 0.5"
b. Move "Personality" so that it appears at the top of Column 2.
10. On Slide 5 ("Step 3: Apply to Adopt"), use the Format Painter to match the formatting of the "Screening" heading to the formatting of the "Application" heading.
11. With Slide 5 ("Step 3: Apply to Adopt") still displaying, animate the two text boxes as follows:
a. Animate the Application text box using the Arc Right motion path. [Mac Hint - The Arc Motion path is located under path animation.]
b. Add the Chime sound to the animation of the Application text box.
c. Use the Animation Painter to apply the same animation options to the Screening text box.
d. Change the order of the animations so that the Screening text box is animated before the Application text box.
12. On Slide 6 ("Step 4: Purchase Supplies"), modify the animation applied to the picture of a cat sitting among cat toys as follows:
a. Change the direction of the Float In animation so that the picture enters the slide by floating up.
b. Remove the Spin animation.
c. Add the Grow/Shrink Emphasis animation.
13. On Slide 7 ("Step 5: Prepare your Home"), modify the bullets as follows:
a. Change the bullet for "Set up your new cat's supplies" to a picture using Support_PPT365_5B_Cat.jpg.
b. Change the size of the bullet to 150% of text.
14. On Slide 8 ("Step 6: Bring Your New Cat Home!"), modify the text boxes as follows:
a. Change the left margin of the text in the orange rectangle (contains the text "Be patient") to 0.3".
b. Use the Format Painter with objects to apply the formatting of the orange text box to the light brown text box.
c. Draw a connector using the Connector: Elbow Arrow connector style between the two text boxes. [Mac Hint - Use Elbow Arrow Connector.]
d. Change the Shape Outline color of the connector to Olive Green, Text 2 (4th column, 1st row in the Theme Colors gallery).
e. Change the weight of the connector to 2¼ point.
15. On the final slide in the presentation, enhance the picture as follows:
a. Recolor the picture using Sepia.
b. Apply the Bevel Rectangle picture style.
16. With the final slide still displaying, enhance the text "Ready to Adopt?" with the Glow: 8 point; Green, Accent color 6 text effect.
17. With the final slide still displaying, modify the animation of the "Ready to Adopt?" text box as follows:
a. Dim the text after animation by changing the After animation setting to green (4th column in the Theme Colors gallery).
b. Delay the animation for the "Ready to Adopt?" text box so that it starts 2 seconds after the animation of the picture.
