Happy 2025! Math competitions such as AMC, Euler, Gauss, Ramanujan, Kangaroo, Math Olympiad, IMO, UK Maths Challenge etc. love to set problems using the year of the competition in them. It's impossible to know what they are going to ask in advance but in this video I look at some of the more interesting properties of 2025: its factors, the fact it is square, its prime factors, nearby numbers like powers of 2 and 3, logarithms, and some ways of representing 2025 it as the sum of squares, triangular numbers.
